The Exit Plan You Hope You Never Need – And Why You Should Have One.
Every business has an expiration date, but when you’re unable to oversee its closure,
critical information like passwords, financial details, and so many other details can be
left in limbo. Without someone who knows what to do with this information, you risk
losing money, incurring penalties, frustrating your best customers, and ultimately
damaging your legacy.
Mike Price is deeply passionate about helping our industry avoid these mistakes. He
witnessed firsthand the importance of proper planning after leading a team of
photographers to assist stabilizing and closing the business of another photographer
following his stroke. Mike also spent three months caring for his mother after her
severe fall and brain injury, experiences that pointed to how a little preparation today
can make all the difference in a crisis. These moments inspired him to create this
program and his first published book, Quit Like a Pro.
In this session, Mike will illustrate the risks all small business owners carry and how
ignoring those risks could put a huge burden on spouses, families, and partners. He will
then share how business owners can mitigate those risks and prepare for closure,
whether it’s planned or unforeseen. Learn the immediate steps to jump start
preparation of your business exit plan today, ensuring that when the time comes, a
trusted individual can take over to triage, stabilize, and close your business—without
burdening unprepared family or friends. This advice even works in a planned retirement
when there is no crisis at hand.
Take the first step toward better organization and peace of mind, no matter how your
business ends. It’s not just an essential guide to shutting down a business; it’s a
roadmap for getting your current chaos under control. Clear, practical, and downright
necessary.
